I designed two garments for this runway show at Lasell University. For the first look (first four pictures,) the assignment was to create a sleeveless top and a circle or pencil skirt. The theme for this section was Barbenheimer. The Barbie element is shown through the pink lace and bows, and the Oppenheimer element is shown through the fabric color and style of skirt.
The second garment (last four pictures) is a cocktail dress with sleeves and a collar. The theme for this section was Fairytales: Heroes VS Villains. My inspiration for this piece was fairies. I wanted to create a character through my garment that could be good or evil, since fairies have been depicted as both in different fairytales. The "good" elements of my design include the rounded edges of the puff sleeves and feminine lace. The "evil" elements of my design are the pointed edges at the hem and shoulders and the dark color scheme.
